Now, just because I bring it up it was probably meant to be metaphorical; but I found the way he says that Thor tossed him into that abyss - when we all clearly saw how he let go himself - was an interesting nod to the way Marvel’s Loki is someone who creates his own truths to justify his actions, and is able to convince himself so thoroughly of everyone else’s guilt but his own that it become his reality. The Trials of Loki comes to mind, where it’s clear that his perception of reality differs so much from Thor’s that you’re not even sure whom to believe anymore. I wonder if we’ll see more of that in Thor 2.
